Apollo Forest Products Mill Yard - 1978Apollo Forest Products Ltd. (Apollo) has been in operation in Fort St. James since 1969. The company began operations with a contract to provide railway ties to the British Columbia Railway. As a result of Apollo's operations under these 3 Timber Sale Licences, an apportionment Cut of 155,490 m3 was awarded to Apollo in April of 1982. Later that year, Apollo was granted the rights to operate under Forest Licence A18156, which included the volume allocation of 155,490 m3. A18156 remains the core Forest Licence held by Apollo and has a current Allowable Annual Cut of 216,746 m3. Apollo is located 10 km to the NE of the town of Fort St. James along the Tachie Highway.

Apollo is 100% owned by the Andersen and Stewart Families of Prince George (The Sinclar Group of Companies). The Sinclar Group also has controlling shares in both Lakeland Mills and Winton Global located in Prince George, as well as a 50% partnership in L&M Lumber located in Vanderhoof.

Through an administration agreement between Apollo and the associated Sinclar companies, Apollo manages each company's forestry activities relating to their operations within the Fort St. James Forest District.

Apollo also has a partnership agreement with the Nak'azdli First Nation in Tl'oh Forest Products Ltd - a joint venture valued added processing facility. The Forest Licence for Ta Da Chun Timber is connected to this facility. On behalf of the Nak'azdli First Nation, Apollo manages all woodlands related activities for the Ta Da Chun Timber Forest Licence.

Although Apollo provides various levels of support to the community of Fort St. James, Apollo believes that its biggest contribution to the economic well being of the community is through the maintenance of employment. Apollo strives to run an efficient and prosperous operation in the woods, the office, and in it's milling facilities. For this reason, Apollo has positioned itself to remain viable, provide local employment, and build for the future in an industry that has been plagued with economic highs and lows.
